A Million Thanks LinkedIn😊🐎
My humble LinkedIn post on the topic 'Social Media & CV' crosses a million impressions on the platform and gives me much food for thought.
I had already shared earlier that one of my posts published on Oct 7, 2024 on LinkedIn had gone viral.
Viral post: 'Your social media presence is your best CV'
I had mentioned this fact when I noticed that the post had received 244,436 Impressions. LinkedIn defines 'impressions' as "the number of times your posts were displayed on screen."

Today, as I write this post on Oct 14, 2024, I would like to mention that the viral LinkedIn post has crossed a 'Million Impressions'. To be more specific, the post now has 1,342,941 Impressions (1.3M+ Impressions).
Let me thank the LinkedIn algorithm at the outset for considering my humble post worthy of being shown on so many mobile-laptop-desktop screens.
Next, I would like to thank all those people from different corners of the internet who engaged with my post at some level. This kind of major engagement conveyed to the LinkedIn algorithm that more people should see the post. And more people continue to see the post even today. I have no idea how many more people will see the viral post now. It has become like a snowball that is becoming bigger and bigger as it collects more numbers while rolling down the LinkedIn mountain.
How do I feel having a viral post?
Of course, the feeling is good. 😊🕺🏼I am grateful that I got to experience this 'viral thing' that many people on social media talk about.
I also feel more responsible in some way that now I have the attention of so many people who have some expectations from me. I have a fair idea what so many people want now.
Since they connected with the post topic and it made sense at some level to many professionals here on LinkedIn, I don't have to guess now.
The Professional & Positive LinkedIn Community
LinkedIn professionals are a focused, career-minded community of people who are keen to absorb and implement all those strategies and tips that can help them in their life and career.
LinkedIn is not an entertainment platform, but a social media platform with a serious educational tone and style. Everyone who creates an account on LinkedIn does so because they expect good results in their own life and career by taking valuable points from all the content shared by so many wonderful professionals here with years of experience.
In my viral post, which is a combination of text and a short video, I discuss the importance of using social media as a place to highlight your career achievements, skills and work experiences, preferably in a video format. This would be a 'social media CV' that would have a much bigger impact on recruiters and employers than any regular paper CV.
The way forward for me now is to explain the different nuances of this topic 'social media CV' in my coming posts. I keep my fingers crossed that it would resonate well with the smart and knowledgeable LinkedIn community. 🤞🏼
This post has given me more focus on what I am attempting to achieve on social media. Actually, it is not about what I achieve, but what I can get people to realise that using social media for career and personal growth and success is something to be taken seriously.
